Sensitivity is My Superpower

Sensitivity is My Superpower

Sensitivity is the ability to feel deeply, it is a profound gift when wielded wisely.  Compassion takes raw sensitivity beyond emotion into courageous action on behalf of others. Sensitivity is A superpower, not a weakness.

Sensitivity at play

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

While culture may label sensitivity as fragile, it takes great strength to remain open-hearted amidst harshness. God calls us to be kind, compassionate toward others, and to love our neighbors. By building self-awareness around triggers and limits, we claim sensitivity as the gift it is. We set healthy boundaries around how far we carry another’s burdens. Quiet renewal restores us to keep loving well.

Rather than mere feeling, true compassion compels us to take constructive action. When sensitivities attune us to where people suffer, God calls us to enter in. We let His love flow through us as healing hands, listening ears, and discerning words to meet the needs we perceive. Sensitivity matures into strength when it guides us to stand in the gap through servant leadership.

Speak Truth with Love

“Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15)

While compassion compels us, sensitivity also equips us to deliver hard messages with grace. The very gentleness that absorbs people’s pain helps us share truth gently too. We sense where hearts may harden so we can circle back patiently.

In a coarsening culture that shouts in anger, the sensitive convey conviction quietly but firmly.

Truth without love breeds brutality; love without truth deceives. The sensitive walk in between by the Spirit’s guidance. Our empathy lets no one languish in lies while our discernment judges no soul. We speak and act to restore the right relationship all around.

Having created each person in His image, God gifts the sensitive among us to uphold that dignity in all. May we embrace this superpower to build others up in love.
